No, this wasn't a big food fair at expo/suntec city, but just a mini Hokkaido food fair in Tampines Mall. The food available were the ususal suspects like ice cream, ramen, sushi, and some other exotic stuff. Fairly expensive though. Of particular note was a Japanese melon which cost around $80+. Wow.
Then there was this soft mini cake thingy, filled with either red bean paste or cheese (1 for $1.2, 10 for $11). I told one of my friend, who had been queuing fairly long, that i wanted the cheese version (sadly i didn't specify how many). I visited the washroom, and upon my return, it turned out he had bought TEN for me. Since he also bought TEN red bean types for himself (ok, presumably to share with his family too), a total of TWENTY cakes was bought. Ouch. And when i asked him why he bought so many for me...
Here's what it looks like-the one on the left looks blackish because i reheated it when i got home (there's no way im gonna down 10 of those at one go, though it really tastes great)

His reply... 'where got people buy only one after queuing up'.
Duh.
