Happy Hallowen!
Heroes really knows how to leave viewers on cliffhangers! What happened 1 year later? The preview for next weeks' episode seems to hint at some event much more fearsome than the nuclear disaster threat in season 1. And also, Hiro seems to have messed up, big time!

oh man, i mistakenly clicked on some file sent by a fren on msn, and the msn went haywire, with many pple online at that point telling me that i said some weird stuff to them, though i didnt do it. and since my com was kinda running slow, with many advertisements popping up all over the place, i decided to reformat it(again).
(the last 2 times i reformatted is a long story enough to constitute a blog entry, but will blog bout that next time). this time, my sis did all the reformating, reinstallations for me. haha thanks.

the s/u revocation started today... and so surprising, I actually got B+ for the Sociology of Tourism module! so im taking back the s/u. I suffered thru the lectures and tutorials, got realli scared before the exams even after s/u-ing it, and the final exam was a 2 essay question thingy, but it seems I scraped through somehow! but come to think of it, the sem i took tourism, i had a B- in another module, which I didnt s/u... so ya, total misjudgement!

there was a fire in the block just an hour ago. upon smelling smoke and seeing 2 fire engines arrive, i decided to go downstairs just in case. there was no visible sign of the fire form the unit though, just smoke pouring outta window, and thank goodness seems like no one was hurt.

there's this interesting show on Central, every Thursday, Is it Real. Last weeks' pioneer episode investigated whether spiritual energy (e.g. Chinese 'Chi') existed. This weeks' episode asked whether aliens/UFOs realli existed. Well I kinda got realli engrossed in the show, and got a little scared somehow, and actually jumped in my seat when my mum came near me. Thats why i can never watch horror movies; even a documentary can get me kinda freaked out.

3 points bout the Live the Dream finale:
1) The hosts kept on harping the fact that there were 3 guests for the night: Click 5, the Papaya sisters, and Taufiq Batisah. Every time commercials came, midway through the show, or whenever there was an open chance, 'all the way from the U.S, the Click 5! the Papaya Sisters from 881! homegrown singing sensation, Taufiq Batisah!' were blurted. Yes channel 5, we KNOW u invited some guests for the show, so dont have to keep on repeating it.
2) I think it was really inappropriate to invite the Papaya sisters on the show. Its not that they are lousy or something; its just that they have they own talents, but in a different field. Just imagine the opposite: Taufiq Batisah belting out his hip-hop number at a getai performance, and you'll get the idea.
3) The host asked Dick Lee whether he felt that the group winner was deserving, but instead of answering, he said he was 'getting thirsty', and cheekily held up the cup in front of him and pointed at the sponsor name embedded on it (Subway), flashing a megawatt smile in the process. To top it off, he said something like' if i dun do this, u guys wont get the money'. And no, he didnt answer the hosts' question.

A fren asked me to try a poem on a long-distance relationship, so i dedicate this to him and his lover:
Though you are so far apart
I've never felt we were apart
I can always feel the warmth in your heart
The invisible strings binding out heart will never be cut
Though we are so afar
I'll always be your unique shining star
The door linking our hearts is ajar
Step through it anytime to heal any scar
Though you are so far away
I'll always be your shining ray
My undying love for you will never sway
We'll be together forever, come what mayMr 'Shrek' Fendi has won the solo category of Live the Dream! By Definition took home the honour for the group category.

today again i learned another lesson. do help others if you have the capability to do so, and others may well give you the very help that you need.
this semester has been strange but fruitful, in that i've been learning good lessons, not the academic kind, but those life lessons, which hopefully makes me a better person.

Raikkonen has won the F1 drivers' title! He was third in the standings coming into the final race, with championship leader Hamilton only needing a top-2 finish to secure the title in his maiden season and become the youngest driver to win it. However he ended up seventh, and Alonso, second in the table prior to this race, also needing a second place finish to secure the title, couldnt do so too. Thus Raikkonen, from out of nowhere, clinches the title by a point from both Alonso and Hamilton by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix. This really shows never to give up!

I havent touched the PS2 for like 3 months, and it feels really nice to be playing to be playing some party games with my sis on the PS2. we used to do that every week some time ago, but i've been really busy, and interest in the game set dipped. well, thanks to the bleach game, we had a great time.

today was the day to settle several issues i havent had time to do over the past few weeks, no thanks to the tests. i managed to get most done, and im glad, some were abit cumbersome.
today was so hot outside! got sweaty and thirsty real quickly. also got stuck in a monstrous traffic jam (SLE), and got off at a wrong bus stop(though the correct one was just approx 500m away).
bleach blade battlers 2 is a blast! instead of working hard on my tutorials and essays, im nw working hard to unlock all characters in the game.
me at 10:56 PM
yea today was a good day. everything went my way, especially the way i didnt mess up my MA2108 test and getting bleach blade battlers 2.
finally the tests are over! my sis completed her exams in 4 days, but my 4 tests were spread out over 3 weeks. so including the holiday week, i was studying and kinda feeling heavy for 4 whole weeks.
i wish to say now its time to slack big time, but gotta work right away on 3 essays, though i just finished 4 yests, sigh.
me at 10:39 PM
tmr is that horror test i've been waiting for, the MA2108 test. its the last in my series of tests, and cant wait to get it over and done with!

after the wetness of yesterday, today was so brrrr c-ccold-dd. i was having running nose the whole day. and today happened to be the day i had to spend 11 hours in sch. it was freezing all over sch.
for the 1st time since i got my mp3, i didn't listen to it on the trip to (and back from) sch. yes, i need more, more, more new songs!
and i managed to retrieve my umbrella (still open, roughly same position)from the lecture theatre where i forgot to take it
last week. wheee!
me at 8:06 AM
todays' rain was pretty heavy. my jeans got wet, shoes got wet, socks got soaked, bag wet, mp3 wet, calculator wet, pencil case wet, file wet, papers look like mashed lettuce, yea i sound like an old hag.

i needed to write an essay for my music module based on a concert; though i had a small rock concert (attended at a Japanese sch festival) under my belt, i didn't exactly have much to write for that. thus i attended this concert, by SAF military band, at the Esplanade concert hall, which i have nvr entered before. upon entering, it really gave a majestic and nice feeling, though i couldn't take ani pics inside, its prohibited.
aniwae, this being my 1st proper, official concert, i didn't expect much. but wow, its so nice being in a live concert! the band belted out their songs so well, and threw in surprises like singing and even mixing in elements from Malay culture. I really appreciate the effort the band put in, and definitely wanna attend such concerts again. (hopefully my essay will be good too!)
then there was this really nice stretch of art, all done by little kids, along the walls leading up to the esplanade:

yea, i'm stealing

forces of attraction

booooo

my fren then led me to the doughnut factory branch at raffles city, which i didn't know of. so there are 2 branches in the city hall area. then we went to the branch below carrefour, where again we got our doughnuts in like 10 mins.
then we rushed to the HDTV exhibiton at Suntec convention hall to catch Mi Lu Bing, but having reached just 5 mins later then their scheduled performance time, they were already into the last line of their song, and left right after. hey guys, stay on a bit longer lah. i didn't even have time to whip out my camera to snap away.
on the way back, we checked out the doughnuts, and the blueberry one was already...

and finally

the words were so big, i had to take the sections seperately...
but my fren told me a neat trick (just using the camera alone, on the spot, without any software help), where i can take the pics seperately and line them up to form the finished product:

it was such a GREAT day!!!

today is Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. I really admire the way Muslims can fast for so hours per day, its really a great feat. Today's the day they break fast, and engage in festive activities.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all Muslims!

when i stepped into the lift of my block today, this young gal came up and asked me where a particular block (three numbers away from mine) was. having lived at this home so many years, i didn't even know where a nearby block was. maybe i should take a walk around the neighbourhood when i have the time.
and also, after using it today, i opened up my umbrella to let it 'cool down', leaving it at the back of a lecture theatre. after the lesson, i forgot to retrieve it. grrr

so here i am, fumbling with the gate to paradise
where eternal joy lies
don't have the key to the lock i realise
i thought hope and desire would suffice
i step back and ponder till sunrise
allowing clear thoughts to rise
the truth grips on to me like a vice:
the gate is not there for me to prise
to my surprise
paradise is already around me, in disguise
family, friends and everything else that makes life fun and nice
that's my paradiseAnyway, lovely Shauna has been booted from Live the Dream; the finale in 2 weeks time is thus a 10-men show. Yawnz.

usually on the mrt i dun wear my spectacles, and thus i can only see things clearly at close-up. then today this girl, abit far from me, kinda said hi, i couldnt see who it was, but she seemed to be looking in my direction, and after a slight hesitation i smiled back, thinking she was a friend. then i proceeded to fish out my specs from my pocket. then this guy beside me started to talk to her. so ya, i was so damn embarressed, and pretended to turn away and get engrossed in my handphone. they must have thought im nuts, or trying to get her attention.

theres this interesting website, just google movie mistakes. it lists the many mistakes made by movies; wrong historical data, filming crew reflected and seen in actor's spectacle lenses (woah this must have been hard to spot, aniwae this was from transformers), boom mic spotted etc. Spiderman 3 has an astonishing 150+ mistakes according to the website!!!

watched RE: extinction today. why trailers list opening date as 11 Oct, when its already been shown from today till 10 Oct, i'm not sure. guess its that 'sneak preview' gimmick.
Plenty of blood and gore for fans who like violence. Most of the scares were cheap, where the character walks into a dark room/tunnel holding a gun, only for some zombie to jump out of nowhere, or some sudden sound to break the eerie silence. The infected dogs, and that all-powerful laser room from the first RE movie make their return. The usual action sequences are packed in, with guns blazing, loud explosions and slashings, culminating in a kinda unimpressive boss fight near the end of the show, though i think any one-on-one confrontation is sure to please game fans.
And of course, the show decides to leave the plot unfinished and on a little cliffhanger, so more money can be milked out of us movie goers when the inevitable(i guess) part 4 arrives.

the Long John outlet beside Eastpoint realli 'radiates' its smell man. I could smell the trademark 'fried fish' smell from
inside the Simei MRT station.
aniwae was at sony ericsson centre, to get repair for my new, yet problems-aplenty phone. throughout the week, speaker dint work during incoming/outgoing calls, and all calls made were not registered in call register. I got the queue number, waited abit. decided to double-check the problems. to my surprise the speaker
worked. and calls were
registered in call register. the phone is like a naughty kid, give me problems all week, then when I bring it to the mother(repair centre), it works again. so, ya, wasted trip.

my 1st test in like 5 months. so nervous and kinda freaking out. 1st question supposedly easy, my frens flanking me seemed to be blasting thru it, based on their hand movement haha. by the 1st hour, I had only done 20/100 worth of marks! started to panick, felt dead and buried.
then one hour to go. the guy sitting in front of me (yea, we were sitting
that closely) also had the answer to question one. so i decided to 'buang' my way through. do the questions, better than leaving blank aint it. so I did 50/100 worth of marks in 2nd hour. at least, in the end i did more than half the paper.

Today, I met and spoke to this really nice looking, chio, sweet gal (aka my type) in a tutorial.... instead of another long story i tried to convert the story to a poem, though the resultant poem appears to be half-baked:
To the class, we came to learn
But I saw you for the first time, and my heart started to burn
To know you, yes thats what I yearn
But the lesson ended, I didn't approach you, and all was forgotten
Today...
But today I saw you again
The desire to sit beside you, I couldn't restrain
Your beauty hit me like a train
You are like the sunshine after the rain
Later...
We said hi
Talking to you was so nice, I don't know why
To learn your name, I wanted to try
But you went off without waving goodbye
2 weeks later...
I only have a couple more times to meet you
Yes I know chances are few
But I will break every personal curfew
To really get to know you...Labels: my poems
