I already packed my bag for sch today (not that there was alot to pack anyway), but my mum said go for what. Final semester already. Stay at home and rest lah. Being a good mummy's boy, i listened to her advice and stayed home to slack.
Wait a minute. All these were mentioned in the blog post yesterday.
My mom added a new line today: just stay at home for a long weekend lah. Being a good mummy's boy, i listened to her advice yet again. Which means i'm skipping sch yet again. So it means i didn't go to school for the entire week, and had a full 9 days worth of holidays. Wooz!

End of week 1 in sch, start of week 2 in school... And i really feel like it's still the holidays, having messed around over the whole weekend, with outings planned out for the following weeks as well. It is the final semester for me after all (barring a last minute, totally unexpected change of mind at the end of the semester), and i believe is is the last period where i get to enjoy properly. At home too, been pounding away on my beloved PS2 and surfing the internet alot.
Speaking of school, besides the 2 core modules, the electives im taking this semester should prove to be interesting: Logic, Management Science (a biz module, which im taking for the 1st time)and Principle of Economics (with the rage over the economy these days, i guess it would be more useful than taking another module titled Genes and Society, which i was considering too). The lecture and tutorial venues also ensure that i will be running around all over the place, giving me a chance to explore around and also to sample most of the food in the canteens before i leave school. Wooz!

A friend drove me to this place... sunset way, a neighborhood area in Clementi (and i didn't know of this place which is so near school), but there is this one stretch of high end restaurants, all linked up side by side, Japanese, buffet, dessert, Dim Sum, you name it they got it, a belt of nice food outlets tucked away in this neighborhood. We checked out the Japanese food outlet, nice atmosphere coupled with Japanese music

Had a sumptuous dinner, then went for dessert Yes, a tad bit expensive, but just oh-my so nice.

(somehow, i can't get this pic to be placed in the correct orientation on this blog site)
And i realised i never tried Tiramisu before, until i ordered it and actually tasted it!

Visited Marina Barrage today. What caught my attention 1st were these boards at the Marina Bay station:

Yeah, this is likely for tourists, but at least it could be nice, printed posters, instead of what looks like haphazard, scrapbook work done by students.
Its at a fairly ulu place, where all the surrounding buildings are still under construction. Once everything is done though, this'll likely be a very lively place.
Anyway it was fairly disappointing; one magnificent view at the top yes, but other than that, one exhibition, plenty of walking and that's it. And the buses come at roughly 15 minute intervals, and carry like less than 5 people per trip, which i think is way underuse of the bus and fuel,.
Can't believe my friend is here for the 2nd time; im already utterly bored with this first time... Some pics below

Not-so-clear greeny water on the other side

Watched red cliff 2 today... making it the 7th movie i've watched in 7 weeks since the exams for last semester ended, and the 2nd movie since sch started 2 weeks ago... am i a movie buff or what. Anyway the movie was good, though i was slightly disappointed that instead of starting off the big battle right off the bat, the 1st hour or so was devoted to more set ups and talks. According to a friend, the ending did not stay true to the actual interpretation though.
And 2 friends decided to share this gigantic popcorn set, so big that the staff had to show us the empty box before purchase, and ask us whether it was what we wanted:

That is one huge monstrous box of popcorn indeed.

End of holidays! 7 weeks, 42 days, 1008 hours, 60480 seconds. Of which i messed around for 21 days, with an approximate total expenditure of $210 (including the clothes i bought for CNY), averaging $10 per outing.
Start of school! Final semester! Will likely have a 4 day week (weds off) this semester... which im already used to (the only semester that i've missed out on a four-day-wed-off week was when i took a very siong module, Japanese language). Still trying to secure the 5th module though, still jumping between Genes and Society or Principles of Economics.

6 weeks of holidays, and the 6th movie that i have caught this holidays, Ong Bak 2... which was a real disappointment. The story does not take place in a modern setting, so there are no sliding under vehicles, jumping wall-to-wall and other acrobatic stunts. stunts. And this time, the focus was on weapon dueling, which i wasn't keen on. Add in a 10 min dance segment, and the film really disappointed. It did redeem itself with a little plot twist and some impressive elephant sequences near the end of the film, but overall it still wasn't good. And Ong Bak 3 is set to be a direct sequel to this film... maybe it'll be better though.

ktv session today, and i found out i don't really know how to sing many songs. And those songs which i actually know how to sing, i can't recognize them by the title; it's only when the song begins that i can tell i know the song. There was this smoke release button (i don't know for what purpose), but sadly it wasn't available in our room. This outlet just beside Bugis station, Topone, its $15 nett with free flow of drinks for 11am-6pm, which i think is a fairly good deal.

Ip Man, Wing Chun! The martial arts style which the title character (this movie is based on a real life story) uses to devastating effect. Plenty of action, lol moments make this an unexpectedly nice movie.

Helped a friend out with some hand made items that he will be giving to his colleagues at the end of his industrial attachment stint... Cool, heartwarming, but as he said, rather expensive to print multiple pictures on one standard photo-sized card:
