Earth Hour
At 20:28 me and a friend were rushing up the escalators, in a bid to catch the switching off of lights at 2030 sharp.
Each time one building switched off its lights, the crowd went woooo!

Before

After

Bad withing buildings, contrary to my expectations, all lights were still on, no switching off or dimming whatsoever... except for a certain coffee chain which closed all of its lights.

Lotsa publicity, nice view from the esplanade rooftop, but besides today, we should continue to save electricity wherever possible!

Metal in the city
DMC: Detroit Metal City turned put to be a surprisingly great movie, lotsa humour and anime style exaggerated moments. Features the actor who played L from the Deathnote series, as an unwilling heavy metal band frontman who struggles very hard to keep his identity secret and just wants to live his normal life, instead of screaming out tons of obscene lyrics in his songs. A great couple movie, but sadly it was a guy whom i watched the movie with.

bookish
So nearly lost a very expensive i borrowed from sch today.

Went with a friend to the hawker centre at Clementi. Upon seating, i became wary of 2 guys at the adjacent table, seemingly doing nothing, and i thought they looked like they might well steal our items, so i shifted the positions of our bags closer to myself, in the process shifting the borrowed textbook (inside a plastic bag) further away. After a hearty meal, we went off... then 3 stops on the mrt, and i realised that blur me had left behind the textbook. Panicky, called my friend, she didn't recall me holding the textbook. Took me another stop to realize i left the book at the hawker centre. Thus began the dash.

So back at the hawker centre... true enough the book was missing. Asked the cleaners, nope, searched frantically, nope. Was gonna give up and calculate the cost... when a man near a drinks stall waved in my direction. I stepped closer... and there was the plastic bag, with my book in it, hanged onto a peg of the drinks stall.

And when the man went back to his seat, i realised he was the one whom i thought might actually steal our items.

watching the crowds
So many people going to the IT Fair...

A usual 10 min walk through the area expanded into a 40 minute crawl. It was getting so stuffy, and seriously, it's so dangerous, i mean a stampede could easily occur, trapping many people inside the area. The city link was later shut down entire due to the burgeoning crowds. More should be done for crowd control ba.

And Watchmen is a really cool show. Adapted from an established graphic novel series, a very nice moral story. Many songs were superb (sound of silence being a really good one) and though action sequences weren't aplenty, i felt they were just enough to break up the dialogue sections. Dialogues... yes, there's alot in this movie, and it is not actually a normal superhero movie, but instead a thought provoking show. Who are actually the real heores and villians? Who actually did the right thing? and so on. Great movie overall wooz.

job watching
Job hunt officially begins today!

And going to watch Watchmen today, finally! The trailer absolutely kicked ass (though the last time a trailer kicked ass, the movie fared badly: I Am Legend) with that amazing emo song the end is the beginning is the end. Hopefully the movie will do better than the trailer.

5 weeks of wooz
Finally completed all the mid-term tests wooz! Felt like an exam period, studying for 2 whole weeks. Bleh. And unlike last time, im not gonna brood over any missed marks or whatever this time around. Heck with scoring.

Looking ahead at the next 5 weeks, there's no test, no project (save for 2 small assignments to submit), which means i have a clean 5 weeks for job hunting/maximum slacking before the exam begins. Wooz!

sickly
Man, haven't got sick in quite a while, and the 3 night tests have taken a toll on me, causing me to skip school today (but having additional time for entertainment!). Tests suck.

35+40+45 = test test test
Ouch. 3 consecutive days of heavy mid term tests starting from tomorrow, right after this holiday week, worth 35%, 40%, and... going by the pattern, 45%. But I'm ready to showhand all 3 S/U s hehe.
