over and out
Wooz, quite an exciting race! Trulli getting overtaken many times due to his heavy fuel load, Massa dashing off with the fuel hose still attached, and waiting desperately for his engineers to come running down a 100m stretch and detach the hose, safety car coming out twice after Fisichella and Sutil crashes, Raikkonen crashing out with just 5 laps remaining, and a surprise winner in Alonso, who was 12th before the safety car incident and surged to 1st thereafter. This race certainly piqued my interest in F1, and im looking forward to the remaining races of the calendar!

But wait a minute. The PSI index certainly went up tons due to the massive amounts of fuel burnt!

vroom
Caught the practice session and the qualifying races on tv over the past few days, and I'd say it was quite exciting, contrary to my initial expectations of it being boring and monotonous. Qualifying for the grid places was heated, with new lap times recorded at any instant, since a number of cars was on the track at the the same time, but at different points. Each time a lap time is bettered, there is anticipation that the next one will go better, and it takes only seconds to find out. The commentators too did a great job in revving up the atmosphere, giving colourful comments in engaging voices. And speaking of which, why was Tay Ping Hui the host for the F1 studio show? Sure, he's a solid actor (i think- cos i rarely watch dramas on tv), but i don't recall him hosting any show ever before. He looked abit out of sorts at certain scenes, especially in the department of facial expressions. Ok back to race comments, differing camera views were used on the track, such as the side view, the all exciting 1st person view along with G force meters and speedometers along the side of the screen and also the overhead shot, which showed the absolute gorgeous night backdrop. Which leads me to wonder, are the spectators present experiencing the cool and informative camera views, as I picture them only catching a glimpse of a car whizzing by every few seconds, without the details mentioned above. But of course sitting at home, I can't hear the engines and soak up the atmosphere with the legions of excited spectators out there, which may prove to be much more enjoyable.

On to qualifying results: since Massa has secured pole position, it seems likely that he can clinch victory, as it is considerably hard to overtake on this circuit. That said, Hamilton, who is breathing right down his neck, cannot be dismissed, so is Raikkonen, the defending world champion making one last surge to cut down the points deficit he faces in the standings. Tonight is finally the race, which i have a niggling suspicion could be boring for some, since it is a full-on 61 laps, 2 hours or so race, with only the final minutes mattering as to who comes up tops. But whatever, I'll be eagerly anticipating the race tonight!

heroes 3
Heroes 3- the opener was simply great. I wanted to go into more details, but guess its better to keep comments spoiler-free. Plot twists came fast and furious (the main one being who was person involved right at the end of the season 2 cliffhanger), as most of the main cast returns for season three.

Watching this premiere got my mood up by many levels. Perhaps its also due to the sickness gradually wearing away, or maybe its because... the F1 practice session gets going tonight... 1st time to catch the race cars in action on the track!

Wii!
Found out in the newspapers in time, that there was this games convention at suntec, today was the last day of exhibition.

Entry!

First up... my friend took a pic with a pretty cutie booth babe... and i followed in his footsteps... i spotted dennis keller there too, and my friend promptly requested for a photo with her... which i didn't (arggghhh!)... i mean she's not my idol or something, but it was a chance to take a pic with a tv celebrity after all...

This was the game i played at her booth, where i had to point the wii mote and the nunchuck according to on screen instructions and dance along! fun!!! i also had a go at wii tennis, wii bowling, wii boxing and mario kart. wooz!!!

Cosplay of star wars characters, with really cool lightsabers

Rock Band/Guitar Hero owned the day; big screen competitions, so many booths showcasing the yet to be released game

Nice 9 screen

and some random characters

good day
Such a sharp contrast with that horrible lab day. Obtained a pretty gal's handphone number (which i haven't done in a looong time), finished off another test (which was quit manageable), had a nice dinner with friends, and actually moved onto stage 3 of the arcade basketball hoop game by a solo effort, for the first time. Wooz!

lab test
Lab test today. Three statistics program to use, each student will be allocated one of the 3 programs to use for the test. I was particularly weak at one of them, and there comes best of luck... i was allocated to use that program to solve the questions. It took me sooo long (15 min out of 45 min test) to do a first import of the data. I mean, without importing, no analysis can be done on the data set. Its like one comma missing, error msg, miss a period, error msg, add an extra bracket, error msg. Getting fed up with the error msgs and the messy interface, i did a ctrl+c and exited the program (without saving or even pasting in notepad 1st!!!). Relaunched the program,
then when i pressed ctrl+v... nothing comes out. Nothing. Nothing was pasted, so there goes my codings. I took another 7 min to redo the damn importing thing, by which time 22 out of 45 min had been used up. And as they say, the rest is history as the lack of time and my panicky hands proceeded to screw up the remaining questions.

ok, its only a test worth 5%, but what the #$^%, whatever % it was worth, it was a sucky experience.

fare increase yet again
Boo, as transport fares increase yet again, next month. A few cents per journey, yes, but accumulate it up and u see the effect. However, it's a blessing in disguise for some people, as the increase in transfer rebates (yes, rebates were increased to offset the fare increase) will actually reduce their current transport fares, due to their multiple transport transfers. Unheard of, really.

foodie fairy
Went for a simple dim sum lunch at this Ivory's kitchen in sunshine plaza, bugis, food not bad, but a tad bit pricey.

First time i was kinda interested in gundam models, since i caught Gundam 00 just a while back, and took some pics of Gundam models at this shop in sunshine plaza:

Dynames

Virtue, in midst of transforming to Nadleeh

Then went to the library where i found not one, but 2 books i needed for 2 different module projects (yippie!). Then a friend dropped me a msg saying there was this food fair in suntec, which i didn't hear of at all. I mean, usually i'll know of the food fairs held at suntec/expo.

(On a sidenote, its one the rare times when wasn't such a klutz when coming to going around places; i managed to pinpoint the location of sunshine plaza from out of nowhere in bugis, and also recall how to walk from the bugis street area to suntec in a matter of 10 or so minutes.)

Anyway decided to drop by suntec anyway since was already at bugis... and man

Such a calming atmosphere compared to the utter mess at the comex which was like less than a week ago, where everywhere was filled to the brim with people

The food fair featured the usual foodstuffs (satay, Bee Cheng Hiang) with some uncommon ones thrown in (Japanese pizza? whats the difference between a Japanese pizza and non-Japanese pizza anyway). But there were some exhibits which seemed totally out of place:

1)osim

2)coslab

3)exotic ear candling? sounds erotic.

and on the way out of suntec saw this little water ball thingy goin on:

carefree and innocuous, that's how kids are.
