Boo to morning papers. Wake up early, have to be quick, hope not to get caught up in some monster jam. Today's paper was quite ok, and seriously this is one of the rare times that im feeling more confident about my core modules than my non-core modules. I mean, to me, non-core modules are my home games, while the core modules are the away games where i usually don't do so good. After the paper today bought some nice food, and just felt light, very happy, though there's still the final, horrendous paper to go. But well, 1st off to take a little rest!

this semester is really looking quite bad. 5 modules, 1 non-examinable, so im not gonna speculate about that. past 2 days, 2 non-core modules over. up next are 2 core modules, and the problem is every semester i have been depending on my non-core modules to survive, and now that my non-cores are unlikely to score...
methods of social research. arts module. just doesn't feel good. at all. and with less than 20% of the cohort being non-arts students, chances are not looking good.
complementary medicine. 125 mcq qns. blasted through the 1st 60 in 15 min. finished off in 45 min. even had time to go through the paper a second time. back home. i was just gonna pack up the notes, move on to the next module, but curiosity killed the cat, as i peeked thorough the notes to find out how many mistakes i had made. 12 right off the bat! granted, the exam consisted of 125 mcqs, but already 12 straightforward questions down and i don't even know how i did for those indirect, not in lecture notes questions. then it dawned upon me what was wrong. i had studied for it the
damn wrong way. i scored good in the mid term essay format test by memorizing only key points, and elaborating from there, without actually looking through the lecture notes thoroughly. and that was the downfall this time. i missed many of the small minor points cos i did not carefully read thorough the notes before the exam. not even one proper read through. can't wait to get the rest the papers out of the way. Enough of this.

Quite tired from all the studying already. Especially having to go through whatever i've memorized for the complementary medicine module, 1 round per day to make sure i remember most of what i've memorized. And i just found out, out of 130+ students taking the arts social research module, only 9 are from science faculty. Oops.
Exam week starts. Here we go.

Studied for most of the day, so decided to settle down and check out the final 30 mins of the Singapore Cup final. It certainly was very exciting, contrary to my expectations. Goalmouth melees, disallowed goal, fight almost breaking out, open goal chances missed, penalty appeal waved down, controversial offside decision, nice goals, extra time (one of the rare times my favourite news was delayed).
Then it was back to studying.
me at 10:28 PM
let's see... out of 5 modules, 1 is non-examinable, another is 4 days after the rest, so effectively i will only be studying for 3 papers this week. out of the 3, 1 is open bk, 1 is mcq. glad i started revising (or rather, memorizing) for the mcq test last week, and that seems to be almost done. so.. left with 2 to study for wooz!

First time there's a food exhibit at both suntec and expo. Went for the expo in anticipation of the monster crowds at suntec. Nicey finger food, very crowded as usual. Tried the green tea ice cream by Mr Bean, hmm.. it wasn't cold enough for an ice cream, and it tasted more like soya bean than green tea. MPH fair was beside this (coincidentally, there was also this popular fair at suntec), and the queue was snaking all the way round the hall. Then adjacent was this apparel fair by Crocs, and gosh at closing time 9pm, they stopped people from entering, but i saw that the hall was packed to the brim with people, mostly queuing up for their purchases. Really so cheap? Big time OT for the temp workers there. Recession? People still spending alot.

finally finished catching up to all the animes i've left out, no thanks to 3 monster projects. heroes and prison break caught up too. i thought heroes was great, but prison break is really beginning to own after a slow start. but likely to will be skipping all these again over the next 2 weeks, with exams looming. to make up for my guilt of messing around with games and animes and drams with the exams so near... i made sure i did some studying every night.
me at 11:30 PM
i had 3 project deadlines to submit today, with deadlines of 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. and each one still needed touching up before i could submit. so imagine my panic and stress as i struggled to beat each deadline. heck, for the 4pm one, i didn't even manage to staple my report properly together, likely that the last few pages (appendix) will drop out. last min work never pays.
but finally, its all over!!! this semester i have been kept really really busy with projects projects and projects. so tense, so stressed over the past 3 weeks. now... time for games, animes and dramas that i have missed out.

was at a medical institution. my mum asked me to collect some medicine for her, at one of the clinic. not certain of the price, vaguely remember her saying it was around cheap. on to the clinic, where the staff promptly charged me $100. i was like hmm, ok, maybe i heard wrongly. charged to the posb card (the normal atm card nowadays has MasterCard function). Went back to my mum, turned out it was like 10 times overcharge.
my mum immediately called the clinic, asking why. turns out the medicine component was around $20, consultation fee of $80 was included. $80 for consultation, when my mum didn't even step into the clinic?! Boo.

can't believe i went to watch high school musical 3. halfway through doing a project, an over zealous teammate wanted to go watch the show, and... we followed her. haha.
So Bollywood, characters breaking into song out of nowhere, midway through conversations, then acting as if nothing happened when the songs ended and they resumed their activities. well, at least the rocket man character was interesting.

today, i had a physics mcq test at 2pm.
1330 lecture at 12 ended, walked over to the test venue.
1345 stun. completely forgot about bringing a calculator.
1347 evaluation. there were hardly any formulas, any calculations in the tutorials. but, it is still a physics paper after all, there's still likely to be some calculation questions
1349 panic.
1350 begin calling as many friends. one switched off his phone, one missed my call, two did not have, one had but was too far away from my test venue.
1352 went over to the bookshop to check out prices of calculators. heck, not worth it.
1355 somehow, spotted another friend at the entrance of the test venue. and i knew he usually brought his calculator. bingo.
1415 test started late. immediately flipped through to see if there was indeed any calculation questions. just one it turned out. and it was one that could be done by hand.

Oh, what a dramatic finale in this F1 season. Massa, coming into the Brazilian Grand Prix 7 points behind leader Hamilton, needed to finish in the top two to have any chance of claiming the title, and duly delivered with a solid win. With that Hamilton needed to finish at least 5th to win the title (finishing 6th would put him level on points with Massa, with Massa winning by virtue of having more 1st places overall). Hamilton was 5th, got overtaken by Vettel with 2 laps to go, and was left 6th. Then came the very last lap, or rather the very last corner of the circuit, as Hamilton overtook Glock (who was slow on dry tires in the wet weather) and clinched 5th place just before the race ended, ending the premature celebrations of Ferrari. The team and fans were already jumping for joy when all their faces turned sour suddenly, as they turned to the screens to see the amazing overtake that lost them the drivers' title. Classic.
Now its on to the American election.

Obama unveiling Al Gore backing him? No probs. McCain went one better, getting the support of Mr Terminator himself. Nice one.
